Mamuśka Restaurant – A hidden polish joy in Elephant and Castle

mamuska

I recently visited Mamuśka for lunch with work colleagues and it was a delight! Possibly not the best option for lunch if you have a lot of work to do in the afternoon-considering the amount of carbs we ate. #afternoonsnoozeondesk

It’s perfect for a work lunch as you order at the till, so no issues with splitting the bill and it comes lightening fast!

The owner is very helpful and charming and gave us a great run down of what everything was, with some great advice on what to order. Here is the delish menu

We took his advice and had pierogi (handmade polish dumplings) which can be smothered in either sour cream, onion or bacon (Of course, I had a mix of all). For main we had placki which is a pile of potato pancakes which can have one of a number of toppings. I went for stroganoff and it was heaven!

A very tasty, cheap (main was £7.50 and it was massive) and filling lunch and I am glad i had my first experience of polish food at Mamuśka’s. I will definitely have my second there too. Next time I may even try a vodka slushie..
