Barrafina 43 Drury Lane, Covent Garden, London WC2B 5AJ
I know I am a bit late to the party on this one but recently I visited the very highly recommended tapas bar Barrafina, at its newest branch on Drury Lane.
A very stylish place with marble counter tops and red leather stools and exceptionally smily staff on arrival that make you feel like long lost friends.
It has a fantastic bustley vibe where the excitement of the kitchen mixes with the chatter of the diners and this just makes for a wonderful buzz. The crowd is a mixture of after work catch ups, couples and groups of friends. Because of the bar seating it doesn’t work as a venue for large groups and this gives a nice relaxed vibe to the restaurant.
The menu is extensive and exciting, with a large variety of dishes to choose from. We were taken through the specials menu by our very expert waiter (who was never far away) and left to select our choices.
We went for:
- Chorizo tortilla
- Pan au tomate
- Acedias sole (from the specials and sat in front of us in an ice display, how could we refuse!)
- Baby gem, pancetta, walnut and manchego salad
- Stuffed Courgette flower
Even the toilets were classy and the hand wash gave some great advice too.
This tapas was full of flavour, presented beautifully and a real respect for the produce and ingredients shone through from all the staff at Barrafina Drury Lane.
