Well as Londons love for the breakfast/lunch combo has spiraled out of control, I thought it would be time to do a little brunch feature on MWIP.
A few reasons why I (and possibly you) love brunch
- It gives a acceptable excuse to drink alcohol at breakfast time and what is not to love about that?
- It’s lazy and if you find a venue that will allow, you can sit around for a few hours with a paper and some friends
- It gets you out and about early and gives you lots of chance to work off the food for the rest of the day, or you can go home and snooze on the sofa 🙂
- You can have pastries as a starter…
Having experienced some mind blowing brunches in New York over the years, I am so happy that London has embraced this tradition.
The Good Egg, 93 Stoke Newington Church Street, N16 0AS
I went to the Good Egg during its soft launch and so it was quite a wait, but boy was it worth it. Serving an all day menu but with particular emphasis on good old brekkie food.
Menu tip? The Shakshouka
The Breakfast Club, 12-16 Artillery Lane, E1 7LS
Good old amercian style brunch options and an amazing bloody mary to boot
Menu tip? The All American… of course!
The German Gymnasium, King’s Blvd, London N1C 4BU
Came to the German Gym by pure accident because Caravan had too long a queue! I am glad of that moment of fate as the brunch was just delicious.
Menu Tip? GG Benedict
Go on, grab a paper and some friends and get you brunch on!
