El Muro Muswell Hill

El Muro, 259 Muswell Hill Broadway, london, N10 1DE

Thrilled to have been given the opportunity of dining at El Muro in the very lovely Muswell Hill.

On arrival and from the outside it looks like a sleek cocktail bar with a very open bar area with most of the tables at the back. We were seated in a booth by the door and very well looked after from start to finish.

The Mexican food is served in the very popular sharing style and so we got on with the job of choosing our dishes. A nice compact menu made this quite simple – phew!

Starter we had guacamole -Avocado, corn tortilla, salsa molcasete

Tacos De Gamba –
Grilled prawns, cabbage and salsa verde

Quesadilla De Pollo -Chicken quesadilla, courgette and salsa caldillo

Main with sides

Chuletón Borracha -Ribeye cubes grilled, tequila adobo, white cabbage and coriander and sour cream

Patatas Fritas, Esquites-Grilled corn, queso fresco and chipotle mayo and Frijoles Negros-Black beans, coriander

Finished with a plate of churros which were without a doubt the best churros I have ever had! Crisp, not at all oily and full of sugary cinnamon flavour! Yum!

Fantastic selection of food that was beautifully spiced and seasoned with great flavours. Thoroughly enjoyed every single Mexican morsel.

The cocktail menu is simply divine too and I had a Alquimista which is described as a Sublime fusion of cachaca, coconut and fresh coriander. Tickled with passion fruit puree and ginger cordial.

Thank you to the team for looking after us and for allowing us to taste your fantastic food. Not just a place for locals but all Londoners should make a point of visiting El Muro whether for just drinks, a snack or full on meal. You won’t be disappointed.
