Alexandrie Restaurant & Bar, 38C Kensington Church Street, London W8 4BX
Away from the hustle and bustle of high street Ken is this lovely little restaurant offering the finest in Alexandrian cuisine.
An interesting menu that offers many treats with Egyptian and European influence and there is definitely something to suit all tastes.
The decor is simple and classic with crisp white tablecloths which gives this restaurant that fine dining appeal, which when combined with the food is a winning combo.
Available for hire too and with no hire fee- there is a downstairs bar area which can be hired or you can have the whole place.
We couldn’t wait to try the food and with some suggestions from the waiter we finalised our choices.
Our menu choices were starters of
Tiger king prawns fried in our light crispy coating with Bois Boudran sauce, gem lettuce, and fennel
And Molokheya-Egypt’s famous herb soup, served with rice as a side dish
Harissa-spiced poulet au pistou-spiced chicken roulade, filled with buffalo mozzarella cheese, harissa, and pesto; with potato gratin and mushroom sauce
And Slow-roasted tender shank of lamb-lamb shank cooked in mild Egyptian spices, served with smooth mashed potatoes
Chocolate délice with raspberry sorbet and peanut tuile
And Summer on a plate!-mango parfait, with raspberry coulis, crème chantilly, and meringue
A wonderful evening at Alexandrie where we were very well looked after. Superb food and well presented – we will definitely be heading back here, maybe when we are doing our Christmas shopping 😀
